Welcome to Stefan Guide in Iceland ehf. (referred to as we, us, and our). By accessing and using this website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the service. Please read them carefully before making a booking.
Booking Confirmation:
Your tour / service is confirmed when we receive your payment for our service.
Payment Terms:
25 percent is due at the time of the booking if the booking is made more than 30 days before the travel date. The balance is due 30 days before the travel date. Tours booked less than 30 days before the travel date must be paid in full to be confirmed.
We accept credit card payments from Visa, Master Card and Amex.
We accept direct payment into our bank account.
Cancellations & Changes:
We reserve the right to charge a fee for date and or time changes.
We reserve the right to keep any money paid to us for a period of 30 days.
We reserve the right to keep payments as follows:
- 10 percent of the total cost is non-refundable.
- 50 percent if the service is cancelled less than 14 days before the travel date.
- 100 percent if the service is cancelled less than 48 hours before the travel date.
- There is no refund for a “no show”.
Cruise ship exception – if a cruise ship does not dock due to an unforeseen event, we refund 90 percent of the money paid.
English:
Disclaimer Regarding Language Competency. At Stefan Guide in Iceland, we use English as the primary language for all tours and events. While we strive to accommodate the diverse needs of our guests, please be aware that requests for tours in languages other than English can be made in advance, subject to availability. We recommend submitting any language requests as early as possible to allow us sufficient time to arrange for the appropriate guide or translation services. However, please note that we cannot guarantee the availability of a guide in any language other than English.By booking with us, you acknowledge that English is the standard language for all tours and agree to the possibility of language-related limitations unless prior arrangements are confirmed.
Mechanical breakdown:
Disclaimer for Event Schedule Changes Due to Mechanical Breakdown. At Stefan Guide in Iceland, we are committed to providing our guests with high-quality, reliable experiences. However, in the very rare event of a mechanical breakdown or failure of transportation or equipment, we reserve the right to modify or reschedule any event, tour, or service to ensure the safety and comfort of our participants. While we make every effort to prevent such occurrences, we cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience, delays, or costs arising from mechanical issues. In the case of a breakdown, we will make reasonable efforts to arrange for alternative transportation or services whenever possible. By booking with us, you acknowledge that mechanical breakdowns may occur and agree to cooperate with any necessary changes to the tour schedule. We will notify affected participants promptly and, when feasible, provide alternatives or rescheduling options. Stefan Guide in Iceland is not liable for any direct or indirect losses, damages, or expenses incurred as a result of mechanical breakdowns that impact scheduled events.
Force Majeure:
Disclaimer for Event Schedule Changes Due to Force Majeure. At Stefan Guide in Iceland, we strive to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all our guests. However, in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, such as but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, government restrictions, strikes, or other force majeure events, we reserve the right to modify or reschedule any event, tour, or service. While we make every effort to minimize disruptions, we cannot be held responsible for any costs or inconveniences resulting from such changes. We will notify affected participants as soon as possible and offer alternative arrangements when feasible. By booking with us, you acknowledge and accept that these circumstances may arise, and you agree to comply with any adjustments made in response to force majeure situations. Stefan Guide in Iceland is not liable for any direct or indirect losses, damages, or expenses incurred as a result of such schedule changes.
Third party bookings:
Bookings made by Stefan Guide in Iceland on behalf of our guests but not part of our own service offer – may have more strict cancellation policy than the one mentioned above. In this case the more strict cancellation policy applies.
Cruise ship tours:
90 percent of the price is refunded should weather prevent passengers from getting ashore. In this case, and if both parties agree, the tour may be rescheduled for no additional charge.
Northern lights tours:
10 percent of the tour price is non-refundable. If conditions are poor on the night booked, we may together reschedule the tour for another night without additional cost.

- Mercedes Benz Sprinter 4×4 VIP – 10 seats
- Mercedes Benz Sprinter 4×4 – 19 Seats
- Mercedes Benz Sprinter – 22 Seats
- We have access to various other vehicles
Liability:
We shall not be held liable for direct or indirect loss, damage, or inconvenience caused by service delays, cancellations, or disruptions due to factors beyond our control, such as extreme weather, natural disasters, government actions, or vehicle breakdown. Loss of Property: We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings. This said, all our vehicles are fully insured for public transport according to Icelandic law, and we carry additional third party liability insurance.
Intellectual property:
All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and other materials, is the property of Stefan Guide in Iceland and cannot be used without our consent.
Jurisdiction:
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Iceland. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Iceland.
Samningur þessi er í samræmi við íslensk lög. Rísi mál vegna hans skal það rekið fyrir Héraðsdómi Reykjavíkur.
