Hi!
I’m Stefan, a professional tour guide in Reykjavík Iceland. I’ve guided visitors from abroad since 1988 and still love my job!
My first experience with guiding was in South Africa, where I qualified as a professional guide and driver, working on and off for thirteen years. I guided in Cape Town, which included city tours, Cape Point tours, Table Mountain tours, wine tours and Garden Route tours – all the way to Port Elizabeth. I explored every corner of the country, not to mention visiting some of South Africa’s neighboring countries; Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
After working for several years in South Africa, I returned to my native Iceland, and qualified as a professional guide. I had also previously qualified as a professional driver in Iceland in 1988.
I’ve worked for dozens of tour operators and hundreds of agencies since 1988, namely; Boundless Journeys, Kuoni, Explore Worldwide, Abercrombie & Kent, Travelsphere and National Geographic. My guests range from primary school pupils to the founder of the Microsoft corporation, Members of Parliament, and heads of State.
In 2009 I pioneered a bicycle tour company, and a few years later followed a Segway tour company in Reykjavík and Iceland Game of Thrones Tours. Although I spend most of my time managing the business and guiding bicycle and Segway tours in the Capital, I am also available to host private tours on request, which allow visitors to explore further afield.
