My wife and I are photographers and Stefan was recommended to us by a fellow photographer. Stefan was great. He has a deep knowledge of Icelandic history and culture. He was always friendly, upbeat and positive in his outlook. Stefan did an excellent job of getting us to beautiful sites at the right time of day or night to ensure that we captured our shots. He made special arrangements with our ice cave guide to ensure that I had all the time I needed to get uncluttered photographs. We both highly recommend Stefan for those looking to go beyond the typical Iceland tour. Highly recommended!
Stefan is professional, knowledgeable and a very nice person. My time In Iceland was one that I will never forget, mostly because of the vast knowledge Stefan shared with my family and I in order to make our trip more memorable! The sights and places he drove us were absolutely breathtaking and he went above and beyond to make sure our vacation was the best we ever had! I highly recommend using Stefan as a driver and tour guide, you won’t be disappointed!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Stefan interjected culture with the entire experience. Something would catch our eye and he would work in a story and some time while still accomplishing everything he had promised. He also provided valuable insights into what else to do while we were in Iceland. It is well worth your money to have Stefan lead your experience.
Dear Stefan,
Thank you for the excellent service you provided with respect to my recent Private Guided Tour of Iceland/Reykjavík. The ‘Golden Circle’ was superb and your geographical knowledge and awareness of environmental issues most informative. The photographic content more than exceeded my expectations. In addition the ‘Bike Tour’ of Reykjavík provided an insight into the history and development of Iceland. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Iceland and thank you for your time and effort in ensuring my weekend was such a success. Kind Regards Alan Tarry – Blackburn, UK.
Hi Stefan,
May we thank you for such a memorable 3 hours of fun, and you love and knowledge of the city will be forever in our minds. Many thanks for a professional tour, which to us was special. Paul & Claire Kemp – UK (Classic Reykjavík Bike Tour September 2012).
Hello Ursula and Stefan,
We did the Classic Reykjavík bike tour with you Friday 18 May 2012. It was a magnificent experience and we enjoyed it very much. We had even bikes with our names on it; of course it was just luck that we have the same names as members of your family. It was also very nice to have Andri with us on the tour. Thank you again, Ursula, for the very interesting tour. We will tell al our friends when they come to Iceland that they have to do the bike tour with your company. Ann & Stefan – Westmalle, Belgium.
We had a wonderful time during our tour. We saw parts of Reykjavík that we probably would not have seen otherwise, and learned a great deal from Ursula during the tour. We’d recommend the tour to anyone visiting the city!
All the best, Tom & Brenda – Boston, MA
Given the option of a sanitized car or coach and sensible clothes I would choose cycling every time as the only way to view the ‘Golden Circle’ in Iceland. You cannot beat this way to experience the stunning landscape and densely woven historical and mythical strands that compose the legacy of this most personal and eccentric country. It leaves you feeling ‘on top of the world’, panoramic sky, the big wide open, almost non-existent traffic. Sounds good? Well trust me it is courtesy of ‘Reykjavik Bike Tours’ – Graham Swain – Broadcaster/Journalist – UK
The two bike tours Matt & I took with you truly made our trip to Iceland. We can’t rave enough about them to all our family and friends. Stefan, we loved hearing all your stories and insight and knowledge of your home. We finished our trip in Iceland with a “South Shore Adventure,” but unfortunately, while the scenery was beautiful, nothing compares to the intimate settings of your tours. The larger tour bus setting just wasn’t for us. While the tour guide was great nothing beats the warm, welcoming atmosphere of your tours. – Meghan and Matt
– Carmen Rohrbach, Reisebuchautorin. Bayern, Germany

Hello, everyone. I want to thank you for a terrific bike tour–very informative and a lot of fun. Edda was a wonderful guide, and I loved it when she spotted the Faroese men in their hats crossing the square and invited them forward and told us about the relationship between Icelandic and Faroese languages. This was the very best three hours of my two-day stay in Iceland and I will recommend it to anyone (young or old–I’m 64) who comes to Reykjavík and wants something more enjoyable than just a stodgy bus tour. Keep banging those pots and pans, Edda. Thanks so very much! – Bob Crossley, Boston, USA
My goodness was that the best tour we’ve ever taken! Stefan was born in Reykjavík and with seven degrees of higher learning under his belt, is very knowledgeable and obviously loves to share his country with new people. He took us all over the city, exploring areas of historical, pop, and gastronomical significance. We’d been worried after a morning exploring on our own that we’d have seen everything that Stefan would be showing us. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Stefan took us into some of the nooks and crannies of Reykjavík while giving us an entertaining glimpse into Icelandic history, culture, and politics. – Cubechick, TripAdvisor 10 July 2010.

I waited 52 years to visit Iceland but I made it in September 2012 and it was well worth the wait. It was everything I could have imagined, and more. The country was so clean, the people so friendly, the food so good, and the scenery was unique, a one-off. I spent ten days in the southern part of Iceland and would like to give a special mention to the following, as they made the holiday very special: Hotel Ork – Hveragerði, Hotel Klaustur – Kirkjubæjarklaustur and Hotel Smyrlabjörg – Höfn, and the most outstanding insight into Iceland was provided by Stefan of Classic Reykjavík Bike Tours, a must do tour… Finally as the saying goes “you can leave Iceland, but Iceland will never leave you.” See you in 2014… Regards, Paul Kemp, Worcestershire, England.
